The Experience

An elliptical, cinnamon-clad edifice, the Water Tower contains 3 cosy guest suites, featuring slate floors, hand-cut terrazzo tiles and rainfall showers, as well as, a viewing deck that affords panoramic lake views. Poised on the edge of the Koggala Lake, the Lake Suite is a serene oasis, suggestive of romance and relaxation. The open-plan, stand-alone Lake Villas are furnished with day beds and breezy terraces. Each Pool Villa is furnished with an open-air plunge pool whilst the Tri Villa features a bathtub. Perfect for 4 guests, the Family Villa comprises 2 suites; each appointed with a king size bed and living area.

A multi-tiered open edifice comprises an upper level lounge spread beneath a cantilevered roof, swimming pool, interior and al fresco dining areas and wide sunbathing terraces. Tucked in an elevated, open air structure, set above a bamboo grove, the Yoga retreat features jack wood floors and cinnamon balustrades whilst the library is furnished with teak and kumbuk (arjun tree) furniture. Placed overlooking tree tops, the spa with its reposeful treatment rooms and flower banks, offers indulgent massages.

The cosy living-room restaurant dishes out an array of Ceylonese specialties, including Rice and Curry, Hoppers (bowl-shaped pancakes made from fermented rice flour and coconut milk), Kurakkan Roti (a flatbread made from stoneground wholemeal flour and water that is combined into a dough) and Lagoon Crab Curry, along with a host of western and eastern cuisine. Guests at this lakeside accommodation can also dine under the breezy, ancient banyan tree or by the edge of the lake.
