Graciously set in a lush tropical garden swept across the valley of royalty, a whisper away from the stunning Sigiriya Rock Fortress, the ‘Sigiriya Village’ mixes heritage and nature inspired motifs with modern furnishings, creating a euphoria-inducing, village-themed atmosphere. The 120 cottage-style rooms are held in distinct clusters, each paying tribute to a traditional, natural or cultural theme, close to the island’s heart.

The Experience

The 60 Superior Rooms are scattered across 3 rural-inspired clusters: In an ode to the exotic waterside bird of the same name, rooms at the Kingfisher Cluster sports reclining chairs, small dining areas and hand crafted furniture; both the Buddhist temple-themed, frangipani-dotted Temple Cluster and the mock rice garden-bordered, green-splashed Paddy Field Cluster are comprised of rooms that open onto private sit-out verandas.

Spread across the traditional New Year festival-décor, flower motif-filled Avurudu Cluster and the river charm-inspired Ganga Addara Cluster, the 40 Classic Rooms feature cane and wooden furniture and cosy verandas with garden view. The water moat-bordered, tree-dotted King’s Arbour Cluster, regally assemble the 20 heritage-themed Deluxe Rooms opening into pond seating areas.

Dovetailed with shaded walkways, the scenic, birdsong-swept Main Restaurant interprets native and global dishes while the stylish Lobby Bar is well-versed in bevvies, from creative cocktails to new and old wine and liquour. Oozing a serene appearance, the spa specializes in herbal baths and Ayurveda therapies. Languishing amid lush greenery, the swimming pool accentuates the relaxed feel of the resort.
