Cosily set amidst the pastoral town of Bandarawela in the island’s Uva Province is the multi-cuisine enclave of ‘The Resto’.

The Menu

This countryside restaurant’s delightful menu stems from Western and Asian flavours. Club Sandwiches and Tuna Submarines are full of happy munch while Cobb Salads rejoice in lettuce-crunch and thousand-island-sauce-relish.

Tropical-flavoured Devilled Mushroom and white-sauce-splashed Vegetable Chop Suey beckon to the vegetarian palate. From black-pepper-sauce-piqued Sizzling Chicken, local-spiced Curry Pot Mutton and Pork Stew, to Sweet and Sour Fish, Singapore-styled Chili Crab, Hot Butter Prawns and Thai-flavoured Cuttlefish - luscious meets fragrant, in meat and seafood selections.

A host of Asian carb-fests includes Egg Fried Rice, Seafood Chop Suey Rice, Mutton Biryani, Nasi Goreng and Prawn Noodles. A griddle chops up exotic Kottu treats, rhythmically dancing together chunks of flatbread, cheese, chicken, egg and sausage. Carbonara and Bolognese sauces meander through in Spaghetti delicacies, creating a merry Italian culinary picture.
