Sugar Beach, a beachside restaurant located on the outskirts of the cosmopolitan city of Colombo. An inviting venue tucked away, bordering a stretch of golden beach in the popular seaside tourist town of Mount Lavinia. An F&B stylishly decked out with indoor and outdoor spaces for patrons who want a beachy laid-back dining experience. The Menu

A fusion of Italian, European and Sri Lankan cuisine tantalizes the taste-buds. Passion and Strawberry Margaritas give an undeniable kick, garnished with cherries and laced with tropical fruit flavours, the Cookie and Cream Milkshake; a smooth blend of Oreos in milk and cream, the Beetroot, Carrot, Celery and Ginger; a healthy veggie concoction with spiky undertones, the Gotukola and Green Apple refreshes. For the more adventurous, the Verdita; a Tequila infused with pepper or the Spiced Pineapple Bellini, a blend of sparkling wine, mint leaves and chili powder awaits.

Appetizers from seafood delicacies, such as the Tuna Poke San Choy Bao, a Sashimi with tastes of culinary Japan to devilled dishes that spice up the evening. Salads; from the traditional Chicken Caeser to the Roasted Pumpkin sprinkled with Feta and an explosive tuna medley are fresh for the picking.

Dive into a selection of Seafood, from prawns and crabs to a school of fish. The Grilled Lagoon Prawns are a fresh tangy mix of spice, the Dirty Bird; a crispy chicken battered with buttermilk and mash. The Volcano Maki is filled with spicy crab meat and tempura shrimp, topped off with fish roe and served with a side of wasabi and soy sauce. The Prawn Star, one of a range of pizzas, is a thin crust bread, topped with garlic chili prawns, mozzarella, green chili, rocket leaves, garlic oil and chili oil. Local flavours are showcased in the Crab Kottu, the Batticaloa Prawn Curry and Sri Lankan Crab Curry, which is accompanied with local toasted bread, butter and coconut sambol.

Dessert is a must. Sweet smooth and tangy Panna Cotta with Lychee Crumble or the Churros with a choice of chocolate or strawberry dip are fresh out of the oven.

The Experience

Decked out in white, the restaurant is open for breakfast, brunch, lunch or dinner, affording patrons a deliciously diverse culinary choice as well as a picture-perfect dining setting. ‘Sugar Beach’ has a tropical, laid-back yet fun and trendy vibe. Lounge on comfy sofas in pleasing colours with umbrellas to shade one from the day’s hot sun or watch the sunset or even sit and dine under a starlit sky, with the warm waters of the Indian Ocean, just a few feet away. Frangipani blooms in pots, swaying Palms border a white picket fence giving one a glimpse of all the island has to offer, when it comes to beachside dining and a mini island escape.

Note: The bar will be open from 10.00am onwards at the Mount Lavinia branch and from 9.00am onwards at the Talpe branch.
