In the midst of evocative red-and-gold décor and captivating sitar music is a world steeped in Mughal’s culinary splendour: ‘Navratna’.

The Menu

Nestled at the stunning oceanfront retreat of ‘Taj Samudra’, the ‘Navratna’ rejoices in exotic, herb and spice accented Indian culinary treats. Tomato juice dances into mint and coriander in Tamatar Dhaniya Soup while Indian herbs meet chunks of chicken in Murg Jahangiri Soup. The Indian potato croquette, Aloo Tikki and the crispy roadside snack, Sev Papadi Chaat tickle your exotic-loving taste buds.

From cottage cheese inspired Paneer Tikka, mushroom based Khumb Galouti and lentil centered Hara Bhara, to the prawn treat, Jhinga Angara and the yoghurt-marinated chicken offering, Bhatti Ka Murg, Kebab selections revel in a bouquet of luscious aromas. ‘Navratna’s’ meat and seafood repertoire draws inspiration from regional recipes like fenugreek-scented Fish Masala, Prawn Kadhai, spicy Chicken Chettinad, Kashmiri-born Lamb Roganjosh and Mutton Korma whilst the vegetarian section hosts Cottage Cheese, Mushroom, Spinach, Potato and Lentil relishes. From Rasmalai and Kulfi to Lassi Drinks, sweetlicious treats transport you away from the mundane.

The Experience

‘Navratna’s’ red-and-gold colour scheme and evocative murals remind one of a magnificent castle rising to the skyline of ancient Bharat. Its cushioned chairs and other furniture draw inspiration from gracious, Mughal royal court inspired designs. Live sitar music accentuates the regal restaurant’s Hindustani mindset.

Soft, puffy, golden brown naan and spicy prawn masala; ah, India how you excite me!
