Curry Leaf Restaurant

Named after ‘Karapincha’, the leafy goodness that is a hallmark of Ceylonese cooking, ‘Curry Leaf’ presents a Sri Lankan style dinner buffet at the sumptuous city break ‘Hilton Colombo’. The restaurant combines a mishmash of traditional and contemporary flavours with a feat of seafood.

The Menu

‘Curry Leaf’ unfolds an honest-to-goodness Sri Lankan style dining affair which is characterized by spot-on use of condiments and good old Sri Lankan hospitality. A salad bar and comforting soups infused with rich nutrients set a wholesome tone for your dinner.

Steamed Rice and White Rice is accompanied by an array of vegetarian dishes and meats whose distinctive flavours are redolent of exotic Serendib style condiments featuring a mélange of Curry Leaves, Turmeric, Clove, Cinnamon, Pepper, Cardamom, Nutmeg and the like. The creamy Cashew Curry is a must-taste, being a special occasion curry in the Island. Other Sri Lankan classics include Red and White String Hoppers, Hoppers, Pittu (steamed cylinders of ground rice layered with coconut) and Kottu (chopped flatbread blended with vegetables and meats). From ocean to table; succulent seafood delights featuring Seer fish, Prawns and Crabs, make spicy, sour and grilled statements.

The desserts at ‘Curry Leaf’ are a perfect expression of Ceylonese culinary culture’s love of sweet, sugary flavours. From traditional sweetmeats to melt-in-your-mouth Curd with sweetened treacle, the dinner wind-up is a sweetaholic’s dream come true.

The Experience

Christened ‘A village in the heart of the city’, ‘Curry Leaf’ is set amidst a landscaped garden portraying a rustic village scene. Basking in thatched roofs and warm brown floors, the evocative setting whisks guests away from the hustle of the city world in no time. A carved moonstone adorns the steps, giving you a glimpse into the ancient Sri Lankan architecture. The atmosphere is relaxed, unpretentious and laid-back. Guests can choose from a display of seafoods and witness it being rustled up right before their eyes.
