International Conference on Intangible Cultural Heritage

Hosted by the Department of Anthropology at the ‘University of Jayawardenepura’, this conference brings to light the richness and beauty of Sri Lankan folklore. As field veterans and academic experts share their findings and research on local traditions, customs and beliefs, immerse in the vibrance of Sri Lankan heritage and history.

Based on the theme of ‘Enriching Global Citizens through Traditional Insights’, the conference speaks of Sri Lankan cultural norms stemming from local belief and tradition. The topics spoken of range from Food Culture and Folk Life to Folk Medicine. Learn about the Entertainment Customs, namely Folk Arts, Folk Music, Poems, Tales, Dancing and Drama, and the significant position each holds in Sri Lankan heritage.
